Beyond the renewal date

How Microsoft end-customer lifecycle management can drive sustained growth for channel partners

By Kate Balgowan, head of cloud alliances at Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in the UK&I

The outcome of a Microsoft renewal is largely shaped by what happens in the months before it. By the time the contract anniversary arrives, the end-customer has already formed a view of whether the investment has worked, and the channel partner is reading a verdict that has already been reached. That has always been true, but the stakes are higher now. As Microsoft’s portfolio expands across security, cloud and AI, end-customers are taking on more complex technology and looking harder at what it delivers. Organisations want evidence that their technology investments are delivering value before committing to further spending, particularly where existing licences are underused. An issue identified several months ahead of renewal can be addressed
