AI slashes full fibre order cancellations Openreach says AI is helping to prevent more than 3,000 full fibre order cancellations every month by giving broadband providers and their customers faster, clearer and more interactive support when installations hit a snag. It has achieved this through two complementary AI capabilities, Crystall Ball and Ask Me Anything. Crystal Ball analyses available information when an engineer encounters a problem with an installation and predicts what work is likely to be needed and whether it will take more or less than ten days to complete. Within 24 hours of an engineer reporting an issue, the customer is sent updates via text message explaining what’s happened, what needs to happen next and when the job is expected to be completed. Ask Me Anything (AMA) allows customers to ask questions about their installation in everyday language and receive immediate and relevant answers without having to chase for an update. Ask Me Anything and Crystal Ball are enabled by Openreach’s AI-driven customer service platform CXone Proactive AI Agent, which also includes a Change My Appointment tool that lets customers book or adjust engineer appointments themselves, helping to reduce missed appointments by 30%. openreach.com … TOPdesk launches TOPdesk Robin Service management software provider TOPdesk has launch an AI teammate to help service teams manage high volumes of requests and make better use of the knowledge they already have. TOPdesk Robin quickly surfaces relevant information, answers questions, summarises requests and suggests next steps. Service professionals benefit from support on each request, while end users can have their questions answered in a single conversation or be directed to the correct form in the self-service portal. Alongside TOPdesk Robin, the company is communications networks, including 5G and satellite services, at the touch of a button. GTIA turns attention to AI standards and best practice The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) has launched a vendor-neutral program to help IT service providers deliver artificial intelligence to small and medium-sized businesses securely, responsibly and at scale. The Managed Intelligence Alliance aims to help MSPs turn demand for AI into trusted, repeatable managed services by developing industry standards, accreditation frameworks, best practices and research. It is supported by Charter Member Pax8 and nine founding members: CrowdStrike, Cynet, F1 Information Technologies, Lyra, Microsoft, New Charter, NinjaOne, Rev.io and Sourcepass. Rob Rae, Corporate Vice President of Community and Ecosystems at Pax8 and a member of GTIA’s Board of Directors, has been appointed Chair of the Alliance, with Carlo Tortora Brayda, GTIA’s Vice President of Industry Standards and Director of the Managed Intelligence Alliance, taking charge of the Alliance’s day-to-day operations. Rae said: “The opportunity around AI is enormous because we know how powerful it can be for businesses of all sizes. But capability isn’t the challenge anymore – trust is. Businesses want to progress, but they need confidence that AI can be deployed securely, governed responsibly and tied to real outcomes. The Managed Intelligence Alliance gives the channel an opportunity to lead by creating the standards, best practices and shared expertise that help turn AI from a technology conversation into a business advantage.”
